The expression that has just sprung to mind regarding the issue of child-centred learning is 'How long is a piece of string?'
In other words, I'm thinking how very complicated teaching and learning is when people try to define it by specific approaches - and perhaps the bottom line is that whatever the approach, you need jolly good teachers!
