Svetlana is Russian and is impassioned to support her fellow Russians to speak, read and write in English with the aim to improve the chances of communication and mutual world-wide understanding.

We are 'at one' in this aim.

Svetlana completed our 'Phonics Training Online' and felt that Phonics International (the programme) and its underpinning guidance would be really helpful in this respect. Consequently, we are now supporting one another with the aim of improving communication through the English language by promoting the teaching of reading and writing in English with systematic synthetic phonics in Svetlana's homeland - Russia.

As a consequence of Svetlana discovering Phonics International, she has now created her own blog and is promoting our online training and resources. Svetlana is also writing guidance material in Russian to support Russian teachers and parents.

(More about Svetlana's blog later.)

At Christmas, Svetlana thoughtfully sent me this link as it epitomises our mutual feelings and aspirations:

'What if we came together as One...'

Svetlana's blog:

I can neither speak any Russian nor read any Russian code.

It is fascinating to study Svetlana's blog - and to appreciate that this is what any 'writing' looks like to a learner who does not know the code of the writing system.
