This article might be of interest, but Michael Rosen used my comments in this article about spelling to blog about - and this led to a blog posting by very popular education blogger, David Didau - see link at the bottom of this posting where I have written about these developments.

First, here is my NATE (National Association of Teaching English) article:
Phonics Teaching - Is it 'fit for purpose'?

In this thought-provoking and sometimes controversial article, Debbie Hepplewhite MBE questions many of the methods we have come to accept as good phonics teaching.

And here is the thread I've developed on another forum about Michael Rosen's response to my article, and David Didau's response to Michael's response!!!

Here is another article I've written for NATE Primary Matters (Spring 2017):

Handwriting - observations and suggestions

In this article by Debbie Hepplewhite MBE, we are presented with advice for the effective teaching of handwriting which is challenging, sometimes contentious and ultimately compelling.
